Ingredients for 4 Servings

  • 5 c
    bread cubes
  • 4
    eggs
  • 1 1/2 c
    milk
  • 1/4 c
    white sugar
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp
    butter
  • 1 tsp
    ground cinnamon

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F Lightly butter an 8x8 inch baking pan.

  2. Line the bottom of the pan with bread cubes.

  3. In a large bowl, beat together eggs, milk, 2 tablespoons sugar, salt and vanilla.

  4. Pour egg mixture over bread. Dot with butter; let stand for 10 minutes.

  5. Combine remaining 2 tablespoons sugar with 1 teaspoon cinnamon and sprinkle over the top.

  6. Bake in a preheated oven about 45 to 50 minutes, until the top is golden.
