Braised Chicken with Peppers and Onions

Ingredients for 4 Servings

  • 1
    whole chicken, cut up into 8 pieces
  • to taste
    salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 2 tbsp
    oil
  • 1
    large onion, sliced thinly
  • 1 tbsp
    minced garlic
  • 2
    bell peppers. sliced thinly
  • 1
    jar of pasta sauce
  • 3/4 lb
    dried pasta of choice

Method

  1. Preheat large skillet over medium heat. Season chicken with salt and pepper.

  2. Add oil to skillet. Cook chicken until lightly browned, about 5 minutes per side. Transfer to a plate.

  3. Add onions and peppers to skillet, cooking until softened. Add garlic, and cook for 1 minute.

  4. Add pasta sauce to skillet. Bring to a simmer, then add chicken, and cook until cooked through, about 15 minutes.

  5. Cook pasta per package directions.

  6. Serve chicken and sauce over pasta.
